What is the HCG Diet?

The HCG Diet was created by Dr. Simeons in the 1950's as he studied the effects of HCG on underdeveloped young men and adults who were overweight.

The diet worked and Dr. Simeons published the results in The Lancet, a popular medical journal. Soon the HCG Diet protocall was the most popular diet in the world and Simeons distributed his knowledge with a popular book entitled "Pounds and Inches."

How does HCG work for weight loss?

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a master hormone that causes the hypothalamus area of the brain to trigger a release of the body's stored fat.

When HCG is adninistered in small doses with a very low calorie diet (VLCD), dieters routinely lose 20-30 pounds per month.

What is the hypothalumus?

The hypothalamus is a portion of the brain about the size of an almond, located just below the thalamus, and above the brain stem. It has many important functions, among them is to link the nervous system to the endocrine system. The hypothalamus regulates body temperature, thirst, hunger, sleep, fatigue and even circadian cycles.

HCG drops or HCG injections?

HCG can be taken as drops or injections. Many prefer the drops rather than face an injection each day, but both can work well if the HCG Diet is carefully followed.
